'Doors'

The aim of my work is to show the mixing of painting and photography without one dominating the other but complementing each other aesthetically through the medium of a simple object. Indeed, every day, we use and touch "door handles" everywhere we go (at home, at work, in restaurants...) without paying attention and without being aware of them, because we use them instinctively. But I think if we open our eyes on the world and concentrate on our surroundings for just a moment we can try to find the "raison d`etre", if there is one... if you examine closely a simple object like a door handle, you turn and observe it carefully at various angles, you will see it at its best, with an imaginative and creative eye... and it can become interesting to look at, even if it is only a door-handle...

My idea came from the fact that I wanted to present my photographs within a frame, but one which would enhance the picture creating a completely finished and personalised product. I used old wood that I recovered from various locations which, after treatment, I painted on with acrylic paint to mirror the picture inside. I deliberately left some of them in their natural state because it complemented better the rustic atmosphere of the photographs.

I am pursuing my work with a new subject : Graffiti
